Tokyo Street Fashion with 'Beams T'...Graphic Art meets Tees

Not that I am a clothes collector neither did I decide to write this piece because 'Fashion Week' is in full swing in New York City.

For Tokyo Thursdays # 4, I think that Beams T with its combination of Art Gallery and Fashion via T Shirts created the world over is a fun destination.
The folks at Beams T call themselves 'Art for Everyday' and they prove it.

On September 13, they hosted 'The Night Will Last Forever', a party/ art showcase with Stefan Marx (Germany) who creates graphics for Skateboards and Record Covers.

Amongst the designs that caught my eye were The Calm Center by Nick Neubeck for Los Angeles Label 2K.

Calmcenter Nick also does good deeds with posters for 'Amnesty International'.

Being 'The French Guy from New Jersey', I had to select Genevieve Gauckler, a Paris based artist with a light touch and fun characters such as this recovering Tanning Center addict . Toomuchsun_2

She also collaborated with Comme des Garcons whose suits I would not mind wearing, I confess.

Genevieve also currently has a show of mostly Collage works at the Someday Store and Gallery in Melbourne (Australia).

Getting back to Beams T, they ship online orders to most of Europe, Hong Kong, Australia  and the US.

If you happen to visit Tokyo, make a stop at Beams T and give me your first hand impressions.

That's all Folks!

In New Social Sites Cater to People of a Certain Age, Matt Richtel (New York Times) explores the nascent interest of Silicon Valley into a group that I would call early boomers (not late bloomers) who have a life...

Whining versus Staying Positive...Life is Good!

Sep 13
While helping someone recently (wearing my Concierge hat) I could not help but notice the positive energy that the person was showing. That person was in pain but chose to focus on how much better than others her life was rather than feel sorry for herself. Every situation can be looked upon that way, I guess. The current economic woes in the US can be an opportunity to find cheaper housing, thinking about diversifying our...
