Nowruz, Celebrate Persian New Year and Spring at Once, March 20-21

As I write this, Nowruz celebrations are about to start in the US.

Nowruz marks the Persian New Year.

Arrival of Spring is the perfect time for the holiday since Nowruz means new day.

On the Zoroastrian holiday, families visit their elders first as a sign of respect.

On the epicurian side, Nowruz is the occasion to bake, offer and eat sweeter than sweet pastries
