Hand Painted Dog Bowl as Art for the Holidays, Pop Up Shop House of Voltaire, London

Hospitals, animal shelters, Oxfam have their thrift shops.

Museums have gift shops, publishers open Pop-Up shops.

Clothing retailers give back to the community with outlets like Merci in Paris.

In London, a non-profit art organization Studio Voltaire opened a Pop-Up Shop just in time for the holidays.

At House of Voltaire you will find gifts that will please and/or surprise your art minded friends and relatives.

For updates on items that just came through the door, visit the House of Voltaire Blog where I noticed the 'Bitch' dog bowl (below, hand-painted by Donald Urquhart). Someone might have lapped it up already.

You never know, you might purchase a collectors item without knowing.

House of Voltaire is located upstairs from Rupert Sanderson's boutique at 19 Bruton Place, Mayfair W1 in London.

Terre di Vite, Castello di Buronzo, Wine, Sensations, Poetry, November 13-14

Nov 10
For 2 days, Terre di Vite brings together wine, sensations, poetry, music together to Castello di Buronzo in Piedmont. Unfortunately for me, the event site and the program are an all Italian affair so I cannot go beyond this basic outline Worth checking if a week-end in Piedmont (November 13-14) sounds like a plan... If only to spend time in the imposing Castello (pictured above)...

The Louvre, A Chocolate Treat on Your Thanksgiving Table, Payard, New York

Nov 10
As NY Chocolate Show 2010 is about to start (November 11-14, I will be there on Sunday), I was catching up on my preparations and noticed Francois Payard's presence. Visiting the Francois Payard Bakery (FPB) page, I was awed by Le Louvre (below), one of his creations for Thanksgiving (available for pick-up at NY Store). Who could say no to rich chocolate and macarons?
