With the stress of reinventing myself (or at least trying to) after my (main) job loss, I have been looking with envy at places where I could take a short break, clear my head and forget about the daily grind.
Since I am doing my best to be practically green, staying in a facility that is eco-friendly would be a plus.
Thanks to Twitter, one such place landed on my map.
The Thala Beach Lodge, about 10 minutes from Port Douglas (Australia) wears its 'Eco Certified' label proudly.
If I was to visit, I would stay at one of their Jungle Walk Bungalows hidden in quiet spots of the local rain forest (picture below).
For fans of deep sea diving, this green resort is close to the Great Barrier Reef and in a World Heritage spot.
Only drawback in my case would be the big carbon footprint I would leave behind by traveling all the way to Australia.
It would have to be more than a short trip.
How could I offset my flight?
A lot of do-gooding?
