Having an 'Epiphany' on January 6th? a 'Galette des Rois' roundup

Rather than serve a warmed up version of last year thoughts on the European Tradition of La Galette des Rois, here is a number of stories and recipes I gathered.

Let's start with Hawaii where the Oahu French Language Meetup Group has a Galette des Rois party.

Want to bake your own, Experience Plus offers The northern-style pastry and almond cake recipe.

As for Metro France they share (in French) a Selection of Galette des Rois offered by various French stores and bakers including Fauchon, Eric Kayser, Dalloyau and last Paul whose Galette and Couronne illustrates this piece.

I also found this Video Recipe of the Galette des Rois featuring Francois Payard of Payard Patisserie via the French Institute- Alliance Francaise.

Do not forget to watch for the Feve.
Whoever finds it will be King for a Day.

Where do you get your Galette des Rois in your corner of the world if you celebrate?

Anarchy in the US? 'Punk House' the book (the movie?) by Abby Banks

Jan 3
Now based in the green pastures of Vermont (Brattleboro to be specific), Abby Banks hit the road with her camera back in 2004 to document what she calls Interiors in Anarchy. The result is Punk House (published by Harry N. Abrams, October 2007). Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth lent a helping hand as did Tim Findlen. Sounds like she has a 'documentary' planned on the topic from what I could gather on her 'My Space'...
