Spain for $10 and under, 'Carril de Cotos' a New Favorite Red

There has been little writing about wine here lately. Maybe it is because there are not too many wines that have crossed my palate that really made an impression.

Well last Saturday I purchased a bottle of Carril de Cotos (2004) from Ciudad Real in Castilla (Spain). The wine produced by Bodegas San Isidro is 100% Tempranillo grapes, displays good fruit and gets the balance right. You should be able to find for around $8. Carril

In case that tips the scales for you, Robert Parker gave Carril de Cotos an 89.
