I Feel Good...Pacifier, Global Mamas and...Fair Trade Clothing!

I don't know about you, personally I can feel a pang of guilt when I buy stuff for my kids at pretty high prices and have a hard time reconciling the 'country of origin' with the final price.
I often wonder how much or rather how little of that money went to the people who made it.
After reading words of praise for Pacifier (a Minneapolis based children store) by Andrea Learned, I checked their site and besides the quality of the offerings, I was happy to find that they work with Global Mamas to offer handmade Batik style children clothing for which the African women who make them receive way above the local minimum wage. Even better, since they are handmade, they are all slightly different. They also seem to sell well as these sold out and out of stock signs on the Pacifier site prove.

It proves that there is more to Fair Trade than Coffee. After shopping at Pacifier you could sing a few lines from 'I Feel Good'...
