Kasbah du Toubkal, a moroccan retreat in the Atlas mountains

Rather than join the crowds, escaping for a few days to a quiet place might be what you need to get some rest. I discovered the Kasbah du Toubkal in the 'Travelista' article by Sophy Roberts in the FT week-end. Even though it is only 40 miles from Marrakech, Kasbah this lodge located in the Atlas mountains offering stunning vistas and run by local Berber people feels a world away from everything.
I think mountains convey this feeling, especially when you reach a certain height and the noise from the valley dies down. I experienced that when hiking in the Pyrenees. Responsible Travel offers a detailed review of the Kasbah du Toubkal.

Poisson D'Avril...Are you walking around looking fishy

Apr 1
If you were in France today you might be wondering why everyone is staring at you and suddenly someone yells 'poisson d'avril'. It means that according to April 1st tradition someone hanged a paper fish on your back. Poisson d'Avril could also be a restaurant located in Quebec City and instead of fish, Bea of 'La Tartine Gourmande' offers us offers us a mouthwatering Strawberry Tart.

'Meet with Approval' helps you set up a group event, meeting, party

Apr 4
I just discovered Meet With Approval. The service allows you to set up a page for your family reunion, party, get together, meeting, event and the like. You set up your page with a topic, suggested date, time and location and then send it to all interested parties. Once most people agree on the details the event is confirmed, that simple. Best of all it's free. Technorati tags: serge the concierge, events, personal organizer, meet...
