While meandering with a purpose, I stumbled on a couple of articles on Bison Grass Vodka by Zubrowka (Poland). A very detailed one under the title Super Grass on UK site Waitrose gives us an history of Vodka in Poland. How many ingredients such as snake, spices and more have been used in it over centuries. There is a blade of bison grass in each bottle. The grass comes from the Bialowieza Forest (near the Belarus border) where a few hundred bisons graze. They need to eat about 120 pounds a day to stay in shape. Some give bison grass aphrodisiac properties but it might just be another selling trick as we approach Valentine’s Day. It shows that you can go back to nature by drinking spirits I guess.
Ever tried ‘Bison Grass Vodka’ by Zubrowka
