From July 16 to July 21 you don't have to travel to Brussels, Liege or the rest of Belgium to enjoy simple or more sophisticated fare.

Head to New York City where Belgian Restaurant Week 2012 is in full swing.

Participating restaurants include Brabant, Petite Abeille, Top Hops Beer.

To 'top your waffles', try your luck at winning A Gastronomic Trip to Belgium for 2 courtesy of the organizers.

The week concludes with a concert by Axelle Red (sends me back 25 years) at Highline Ballroom in NY for Belgian National Day on July 21.
