Espadrilles on My Feet, Game of Petanque, Glass of Pastis, Perfect Bastille Day Start

Lazy summers in the south of France often meant Espadrilles on my feet and a game of petanque with friends.

I was a kid then, Pastis came later.

Espadrilles on my feet, a game of petanque and a glass of Pastis sound like the perfect way to kick off Bastille Day.

I think i will have to do without the espadrilles this year.

Polly of Polly-Vous Francais? mentions that Bensimon offers espadrilles for sale online in the USA.

I find the $60 a pair price tag a bit steep for an item you could spot in many local markets in France.

I also wonder why Bensimon Espadrilles are only available in Ladies sizes, disappointed.

It prompted me to look for other options.

The closest to the roots in my opinion is Espadrille Store with many models for both men and women and also some for kids.

Their prices also are down to earth with the brown model (pictured above) on sale for $21.95 and many of the other models at $25.95 (plus shipping).

Summer, southern Europe and Bastille Day on my mind.
