Greek Cooking to Japanese Delicacies, Menu for Hope 6 Down Under

If we stop navel gazing for a few minutes, we might realize that the US is not the only melting pot.
Make a big jump down under and you will find Croatians, Italians, Chinese and many others I guess.

Our own global fundraiser Menu for Hope 6, illustrates that under the Australian wing of Ed of Tomato who's anchoring the Asia-Pacific region list.

For the 6th year in a row, as Christmas and the end of the year festivities approach, food and wine bloggers around the world join in an effort to raise funds and awareness for the UN World Food Programme with Menu for Hope 6 (December 14-25).

Amongst all the offerings from the Asia-Pacific region,  I picked two items to keep it short and on topic.

First Greek Cookery: From The Hellenic Heart a book by George Calombaris (AP 01)

They say George "is probably the best known chef ever in Australia for his Greek roots and food (as well as his knife and fork skills)."

I have to believe them since I never met the guy, tasted his food or heard of him before.

Funny enough, George Calombaris doesn't like food bloggers according to Eating Melbourne (September 09).

Second TOKO Restaurant and Bar has donated a $200 FOOD + BAR TAB  (AP 12)

With that you can "sample the new fare and enjoy the finest of Japanese delicacies over cocktails, at iconic Sydney hotspot, on premiere eat street, Crown Street, Surry Hills (for use during January 2010, must be over 18 years old)"

Taste the difference.

It is always nice after being hit by a snowstorm that it is summer somewhere.
