Going Rhone in 2010, Ampuis Wine Market, January 22-25, 200 Wines, 61 Winemakers and Negociants

Rather than making new year resolutions that you will not keep, would it not be more fun to plan a few trips around the globe.

If your wine 'goal' for 2010 is Going Rhone, you might want to plan a visit to the 82nd Ampuis (Cote Rotie) Wine Market (sorry French only site).

It takes place from Friday, January 22 to Monday, January 25 in Ampuis and hosts 61 Winemakers and Negociants showcasing 200 wines from the following appellations: Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Saint-Joseph, Cornas, Hermitage, Saint-Péray et Croze-Hermitage.

Cost per person : 8 €  (includes a tasting glass 'Spiegelau' etched with the name Côte-Rôtie plus a chance to win some Côte-Rôtie wines in a raffle).



Obviously to make it through the tasting you will need food to sustain you.

From Oleron oysters to Macarons to Jams and Wild Mushrooms as well as Organic Cheeses, you are in for a treat it seems. I almost forgot to mention Snails.
