Clos de los Siete (2006) a Bordeaux style blend from Argentina

I am far from being a fan of Michel Rolland.
Blame it on documentary Mondo Vino if you will.
I did have a chance to taste his Clos de los Siete (Argentina, 2006) during the Taste of Argentina event at the NY Omni Hotel and did like it.

The name refers to the seven partners behind this wine.

The 2006 Vintage of this Bordeaux style blend is 45% Malbec, 35% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Syrah.
Mary Ewing-Mulligan offers a good background story on this wine in her review of the 2004 vintage (Wine Review Online).
The LA Times selected Clos de La Siete 2006 has Wine of the Week (April 30th, 2008) and credits it with
tastes of dark plums and sweet vanilla.
Jamie Goode (UK) also praises the effort.

At around $14, definitely worth a try.
