Heathrow Terminal 5 grand opening....Baggage and Flight Delays on the Menu

Heathrow Terminal 5 grand opening (March 27) gets the star treatment from Global Traveler (FT) under the banner Welcome to the glass emporium.

The best transportation option to the airport seems to be the Heathrow Expresss.
Global Traveler quotes the service as offering trains from Paddington Station to Terminal 5 every 15 minutes. The trip is timed at around 20 minutes.
To save you time, tickets can be bought here online.
It is also more environmentally friendly.

Based on this early report from The Telegraph (UK) Heathrow Terminal 5 opens amid baggage delays
(by Aislinn Simpson and Lucy Cockcroft), the first morning was not without bumps. Flights were on time but it took travelers over an hour to get their luggages and bags.

An even more recent piece in The Guardian describes
T5 launch marred by delays and cancellations (Dan Milmo).

Visit the Terminal 5- Welcome Page from British Airways for all the practical details.

Any first impressions you want to share if you use Terminal 5 during these first few days, share them with us in words and or pictures.
