Are we selling ourselves short? Work less by charging more?

Instead of working all these hours in order to make a living or sustain it, should we charge more.
Are we selling ourselves short by underestimating the value of our time and work to others.
I was wondering just that after a discussion yesterday at South by Southwest where one of the panelists noted that he was given the advice to charge 3 times the rate he was about to quote.

After all the less hours you work for pay the more time you can spend with your loved ones, give back to the community, enjoy the outdoors and keep your health and sanity instead of burning out.

Agree, disagree!!!
