No I am not about to drown you with advertising.
Writing (I find the word ‘content’ a little cold) comes first, advertising should complement it.
I spent most of the day at Gotham Hall in New York for the first leg of the Future of Online Advertising.
Mayor Bloomberg did not give the keys of the city to Gillian and Ryan Carson (the organizers), he instead issued an official proclamation for this first edition of the event. Spiderman was nowhere in sight.
We heard about technique, the need for imagination, crass versus class, video, the return of convergence and more.
Gotham Hall is a very nice space with some old charm.
Things were kept on schedule and on topic by Ryan.
The only drawback was the echo. You get the view of the rotunda and a booming sound.
The conference had an international flavor (the attendees, not the speakers).
I had the pleasure to meet attendees from neighboring Canada, the UK, Germany and Switzerland.
I will be back in the Big Apple tomorrow for round two.
Do not expect too much fresh writing until later Friday if my brain is not too tired.
In the meantime browse the archives.
Bonsoir!
